Re: hik-connect and router 3G/4G

If you are talking about port forwarding issues using a typical 3g/4g sim then yes P2P does overcome this. It is true that most mobile networks block the ports at the network level. Unless getting a fixed IP sim card apparently from specialists.

Re: to NVR or not to NVR.. that is the question

One thing I will point out is reliability. NVRs are less likely to crash as they are a simplified dedicated machine but most important of all is the hard drives you are using. Due to constant read/write demands, you should be using CCTV specific hard drives (WD purple/Seagate Skyhawk) - as normal an...

Re: Hikvision NVR cannot see cameras but SADPtools can?

Hi JHSS,

Why should you not use your default gateway which often works by redirecting?

I was told by Hikvision a while back that 8.8.8.8 is often not the best for some reason...

Re: Would these be OK

Hi Bri, Yes these would be a good choice of camera. You might be better off with both being a 4mm however as it is still a wide 90 degree field of view. Looking down the long garden the 2.8mm might be a bit too zoomed out, although you might get more of the immediate area. So you might have to compr...
