Firmware updates

Postby adam » Sat Jul 16, 2016 11:06 am

Hikvision are great for providing regular firmware updates for their IP cameras and recorders. As well as adding features from time to time they usually fix a number of bugs, improve performance/compatibility etc. Updating to the latest firmware is the first thing to do if you are encountering any issues at all.

The best place to download firmware from is http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/i ... 20Firmware where "Back-ends" are the recorders and "Front-ends" leads you to (IPC) IP Cameras.

If you are having trouble locating the right firmware. Simply ask us on here...

Once downloaded you will have to extract the .dat file (http://www.7-zip.org/download.html is a good free extractor) and then you can upgrade via the web interface or a USB pen directly into the device.

Can you tell me if I have the most up to date firmware on my devices?
EXIR Bullet -DS-2CD2232-I5 = V5.3.0 build 150814
DS-7608NI-E2-8P = V3.4.62 build 160503
Cube DS-2CD2432F = V5.3.0 build 150814

The new page layout on the portal is very confusing compared to how it used to be.

I'll agree it's slightly encrypted!

EXIR Bullet -DS-2CD2232-I5 = V5.3.0 build 150814 & Cube DS-2CD2432F = V5.3.0 build 150814

Are both classified as "R0 platform(2xx2)" where you can now upgrade to 5.4: http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/i ... 282xx2%29/

DS-7608NI-E2-8P = V3.4.62 build 160503

Is under "DS-7600NI-E1(E2) 7700NI-E4" and it appears you are on the latest...

Hello Adam

I am new to this forum site and require some help please.

I just got the DS-2CD2342WD-I4MP WDR EXIR Turret Network Camera and the quality seems great.

However, I am noticing some issues. The firmware is V3.4.80 Build 160718 and not sure if that's the latest release? I am not the best with this stuff so please bare with me.

If it's not the latest - what steps are required to bring the system to the latest firmware version?

I am experiencing lagging/delay when I try open the individual camera on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Edge S7) and when switching from 'fluent' to 'clear' it freezes and presents an error code 8200

I was also wondering if you can provide any insight/info/assistance into ensuring my system is optimised for optimum performance (including port forwarding etc)

I really really appreciate your time in advance!!!!!

Kind regards,

Daniel

The 2 line 4 megapixel cameras are classed as R6 Platform:

http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/i ... %202X52%29

As you can see we now have 5.4.5 - but you will need to upgrade to 5.4.0 first.

You have to download the Zip files and extract the .dat files (ZIP7 is a free windows program if you need).

This sould help you with the process: http://www.hikvision.com/us/about_10683.html

However if plugged into the NVR to login to the camera you need to enable 'Platform Access' under 'Other' in the 'Advanced Network Settings,' on the NVR. This will then let you click through into the camera itself from System > Camera Management on the right...

Hi Adam,

Followed your instructions - can't find the path you want me to follow. Enable Virtual Host?

I have downloaded V5.4.0 and it won't allow me to update - nor on the NVR or the web platform. It says 'upgrading failed'. I am trying to upload 'digicap.dav'

Any suggestions?
