Multiple Cameras to a NAS?

Postby GregNY » Thu Jun 29, 2017 2:18 am

Hello. I setup three Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I cameras.
I have a Synology NAS station.
As per the manual I was able to setup the NAS and one of the cameras to record to the NAS with no issues.
I am having an issue trying to figure out how to have multiple cameras record to the same NAS at the same time.

How can I accomplish this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Greg,

it depends, how you use the NAS.
If you only use it as HDD for the Hikvision cams, then you should be able to add the other 2 cams the same way you did with the first.
If you use the Synology Surveillance Station App on the NAS then you need to buy additional cam licenses, as there is only one cam license included to get you hooked...
After adding additional licenses, you can add your other cams, as you did with the first.

Each camera needs its own share on the NAS that it can format and use as an individual HDD. I have 4 writing to my ReadyNAS
