hik-connect and router 3G/4G

Postby Peppe » Tue Jul 04, 2017 3:46 pm

i have a NVR ds7616-NI-ST with the latest firmaware 3.4.4 that should supports the p2p feature. I dosn't have the ADSL so i bought a 3G/4G modem that provide a wi-fi signal. On the NVR side a have a client bridge connected to the ethernet port that capture the wi-fi. I have router bridge and client on the same LAN but the NVR doesn't connect to hik-connect server. I read that my 3G provider use the NAT for the SIM. I know that with HiDDNS there were problems with NAT because of the public IP address. Does the P2P have the same problem with the NAT address or there's something else?

If you are talking about port forwarding issues using a typical 3g/4g sim then yes P2P does overcome this. It is true that most mobile networks block the ports at the network level. Unless getting a fixed IP sim card apparently from specialists.
