How to make QR codes for Hikvision Software

Postby Armitron77 » Sun Aug 06, 2017 7:31 pm

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. I was just notified by my IT manager that I need to learn how to make QR codes for the Hikvision software we use for our camera throughout the hotel. I have searched in google and on youtube as well as youtube and found nothing so far on how to make QR codes. Does anyone here know how? If so, may you please provide instructions on how to? Thanks.

Hi - slightly confused, what are the QR codes for? The QR code is on the box to add to the Hik-Connect app or in the advanced network menu. You only need to do this once?

How are you trying to access the cameras?

I only saw your post today and I decided to join up and offer some assistance, I hope I am not to late to help and if so I hope this is of help to others.
1st How to create a QR code. (I'm using Hik Connect Ver: 3.0.0.0714 on Android)
Operating a Hikvision NVR DS-7732NI-I4/(16P).
Armitron77: If you are using the Hik Connect App, go to the Home screen (by pressing the icon in the lower left corner see attachment 1 ) this should bring you to the screen listing all your devices. (cameras & NVR).
At the top of this screen there is a red menu bar with a "+" icon in the top RH corner and two Icon's in the top LH corner. Press the icon at the far left (not the triangular "Play" icon)
This will bring you to a screen titled "Device list" which will list your IP/Domain. (See attachment 2 )
There you will see the words "Generate QR code". press that and you are one step away from generating your own QR code.
With this code you can add up to 32 devices to your system.
I assume that what your boss might want to do is email the QR code to person(s) anywhere on this planet who can scan it into their smartphone and then access your system.
Good Luck.

Armitron77.
Are you using Hik-Connect?
I know you can make QR codes within Hik-Connect and save it as a JPEG and then share it by email etc.
I am not sure exactly what they are for I can only assume that once your system is set up with Hik-Connect on one smartphone you can create a QR code of the settings and share it with other users to possibly minimise their setup time.
If this sounds like what you are after, let me know and I will post more detail for you.
