Hello everyone,

I’m currently using Hik-Connect for remote access to my system, but I would like to explore other available options.

Could you please advise what alternative methods are supported for remote access?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Kind regards,

Dear member,
The most commom auternatives for Hik-Connect are:

Direct access using Public IP address.
This is the traditional method if your internet provider provided you with a static public IP address.
How it works:
Configure port forwarding on your router.
Forward the required ports to your NVR/DVR.
Access via:
http://Public_IP_port

Common Ports required:
Service Default Port
HTTP 80
HTTPS 443
SDK/Server 8000
RTSP 554

Pros
Full web interface access, works with iVMS software
Cons
Exposes device to the internet, so make sure your device is always with the latest firmware and always use strong password.

✔ Recommended only if properly secured (strong passwords, HTTPS, changed default ports).

DDNS (Dynamic DNS)
If your ISP provides a dynamic public IP address, then use DDNS
Example:
http://yourhostname.ddns.net: port

Common DDNS providers:
No-IP
DynDNS
DuckDNS

Pros
No need to track IP changes
Works well with port forwarding
Cons
Still requires open ports

Using iVMS-4200 Client Software
You can use: iVMS-4200
Add device via IP/Domain
Access live view and playback remotely
Works via:
Port forwarding
Static public IP
