Receiving Notifications Only When the App Is Open

Please help me,

I receive event notifications while the app is open, but when I close the app, my phone does not notify me.
Why is this happening?

If you are receiving event alerts inside the app but not when it is closed, this typically indicates that push notifications are disabled at the phone system level.

To resolve this for the Hik-Connect, please check the following:

Step 1 – Enable Push Notifications on Your Phone​

Go to your phone’s:

Settings → Notifications → Hik-Connect

Ensure that:

• Notifications are allowed
• Lock screen notifications are enabled
• Banners / alerts are enabled
• Background app refresh is permitted (if applicable)

Step 2 – Verify Notification Settings Inside the App​

Open Hik-Connect and confirm:

• Event notifications are enabled for the specific device
• The correct event types (motion detection, line crossing, intrusion, etc.) are selected

Important Notes:​

• If battery optimization or power-saving mode is enabled, it may prevent background notifications.
• On some Android devices, you may need to disable battery optimization specifically for Hik-Connect.

Once push notifications are properly enabled, you should receive alerts even when the app is closed.
