Hello everyone, does anyone knows the answer for the following question?
What are the audio file requirements when importing a custom alarm sound for the built-in speaker on a Hikvision Live Guard camera?
I want to upload my own warning message, but the camera does not accept some audio files.

Dear member,

Hikvision Live Guard cameras only support custom alarm audio files that meet specific format and encoding requirements. If the file does not match these parameters, the upload will fail or the audio will not play correctly.

Supported audio requirements (most Live Guard models):
  • File format: WAV
  • Audio encoding: PCM (uncompressed)
  • Channels: Mono (1 channel only)
  • Bit depth: 16-bit
  • Sample rate:
    • Typically 8 kHz or 16 kHz (16 kHz recommended for clearer voice)
  • Maximum duration: Usually ≤ 10 seconds
  • Maximum file size: Commonly ≤ 2 MB (model dependent)
  • No metadata or compression (no MP3, AAC, or ADPCM)
Files recorded in stereo, compressed formats, or higher sample rates (e.g. 44.1 kHz) will not be accepted.

Best Practice Tips
  • Record the message as a clear spoken voice (female voices often sound clearer on small speakers).
  • Keep the message short and direct to stay within duration limits.
  • Convert audio using tools like Audacity and export as WAV (PCM, mono, 16-bit).
  • After uploading, always test the alarm trigger to confirm playback volume and clarity.
