What DNS settings should be used when configuring Hik-Connect?

Can anyone help, please.
When setting up the Hik-Connect service on a recorder, what should the Preferred and Alternate DNS servers be configured as? Thanks

Hi Oliver_Matthews,

When configuring network settings for use with the Hik-Connect service, it is recommended to use reliable public DNS servers to ensure proper name resolution and stable platform connectivity.

Recommended DNS Settings:​

• Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
• Alternate DNS Server: 1.1.1.1

These are public DNS servers provided by:

• Google (8.8.8.8)
• Cloudflare (1.1.1.1)

Using these DNS addresses helps prevent connectivity issues that may occur with certain ISP default DNS servers.
